Being just a little over halfway through the 2025 LPGA Tour season, let’s take a look back at all 18 tournaments competed this year, now with 15-13.
15. – Black Desert Championship – The Black Desert Resort is a beautiful and dramatic setting, automatically one of the most stunning venues on the LPGA Tour. Unfortunately, the tournament was a bit unlucky in its inaugural playing. Coming immediately off a major championship, the field was fairly average and the weather did not cooperate. Because of the bad weather and shifting tee times, this event had bad TV times that didn’t give this TV-friendly course its proper shine. Haeran Ryu dominated over the weekend, shooting 68-64 on the final two rounds to win by five strokes. This wasn’t the best ending and the unlucky circumstances pull it down.
14. – HSBC Women’s World Championship – Considering the champion, hall-of-famer Lydia Ko, and the quality of leaderboard, this is one of the more forgettable tournaments on the schedule. That can happen with the Asian swing, the tee times are at extreme hours in the United States. The leaderboard coming into Sunday was elite, with Ko, Charley Hull, Jeeno Thitikul, Minjee Lee and other big names in contention. Many of the chasers fell off early Sunday though and Ko ran away with it by four strokes. She was spectacular in the final round and was in so much control that it never felt close by the turn.
13. – Mizuho Americas Classic – This event gets some bonus points for being played at arguably the best venue on the LPGA Tour. Liberty National is stunning and dramatic and has quickly established itself as a must-watch annually. The issue, like with many of these, was the lack of an exciting finish. Jeeno Thitikul played a fairly no nonsense round, three birdies and 15 pars, to win by four strokes over Celine Boutier. Thitikul, the No. 2 player in the world, was mighty impressive, but it wasn’t exactly the most thrilling ending, especially compared to the previous two events held at Liberty.
