Gina Kim, the 25-year-old former Duke standout, won for the third time in her career on The Epson Tour, defeating Carla Tejedo Mulet by one stroke.
It wasn’t going to be easy for Kim, who was three strokes back of Melanie Green and Hailee Cooper coming into Saturday’s final round, but the former LPGA Tour pro showed a ton of fight through high winds and difficult conditions.
Kim got off to a fast start on the front nine, with birdies on three of her first four holes of the day. She added two more early on the back nine before the wind continued to pick up toward the end of her round, where she had two bogeys in the last four holes. She shot -3 for the day to wrap up the tournament at -13.
“It was fun today. I loved battling it out,” said Kim.
Kim spent three seasons playing on the LPGA Tour from 2022-2024 and posted a top-three finish at the 2023 Portland Classic. In 2024, she only made 6/18 cuts and her best finish was a T35 at The Lotte Championship. Now playing on The Epson Tour in 2025, she looks to be close to a lock to earn her way back onto the LPGA Tour.
In seven starts this year, Kim has three top-10 finishes, including two wins. She is the first player in 2025 to win twice on The Epson Tour and seems to be really rounding into form. Last week in Arizona, she rallied with a fantastic final round 66 to finish in the top 10.
She currently sits well ahead of second place Laetitia Beck in the Race for the Card standings with 1.1 k points. That number already would have been good enough to finish in the top 15 of last year’s competition, resulting in LPGA Tour membership.
