At the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship presented by Munich Re, Gina Kim holds a four-stroke lead after Thursday’s first round.

Kim got her round started quick, with birdies on the first three holes. She didn’t slow down either, adding more on holes five and six. She made one more on the eighth hole to finish the front nine at -6.

She slowed a bit on the back nine, making three birdies and a bogey on her final hole to finish at -8 with a 64.

Kim’s opening round lapped the field, and her stats show how she dominated. She hit 11/14 fairways and 15/18 greens. When she got on the putting surface, the flat stick was terrific as well. She had just 26 putts for that first round.

Kim leads by four over Britney Yada and Jiyue Wu, and looks poised to capture another win. Kim has been fantastic this season in her first year back on Epson after a few years on the LPGA Tour. While her consistency has her at No. 2 in the Race for the Card standings, she already has two wins this season and is looking to add a third.

The second round of the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship continues Friday, with Kim in the morning wave.
