Two-time major champion Brittany Lincicome has joined the growing list of American LPGA stars to announce their retirement from full-time golf in 2024.
Lincicome, the 39-year-old from Florida, announced last week in a press release that The Annika Driven by Gainbridge would signal the end of her full-time playing career.
“I’ve had a tremendous career on and off the golf course on the LPGA Tour, and I’m incredibly honored and humbled to have the opportunity to finish my final full-time season where everything started for me here in the Tampa Bay region.”
Lincicome has been one of the most recognizable players on the LPGA Tour throughout her career, first winning in 2006 at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship. She added seven more victories over the next 12 years, including winning two majors at Mission Hills in 2009 and 2015. The most recent win of her career was in 2018 at the Pure Silk Bahamas Championship, which she also won in 2017.
In 2018, Lincicome made her PGA Tour debut at the Barbasol Championship, where she became the fifth woman to compete on the men’s tour. In the second round, she became only the second woman to break par on the PGA Tour.
Recently, Lincicome made her first appearance as an assistant captain for the United States Solheim Cup in 2024, she likely will return to that position and be in the running for the captain spot in the near future.
Lincicome joins Lexi Thompson, Ally Ewing and Angela Stanford as multiple time winners on tour to retire in 2024.
