Angela Stanford, who is likely playing in her last LPGA Tour event before her impending retirement, had an exciting end to her second round.

Stanford needed something spectacular to happen on the par 5 18, sitting at +1 for the tournament with the cut line at even par. While she had put herself in solid position to make birdie, with a third shot that came to rest just short of the green, she took all the risk out.

A beautiful high chip landed just inches on the green, and fell down to the hole perfectly dropping in.

Stanford, a seven-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion, is a part of a growing list of American players who announced their retirements from full-time play in 2024, along with Lexi Thompson, Ally Ewing and Brittany Lincicome.

Technically, Stanford could play her way into the Annika Driven by Gainbridge with a strong finish this weekend. She gave herself that opportunity Thursday on the final hole.
