For the second day in a row, Angel Yin has shot a -8 64 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, which matches her career low. This has led to her taking a five-shot advantage into the final round.

If there is one category the long driving, excellent putter has relatively struggled in, it is her approach shots. That wasn’t the case in the third round as Yin hit every green in regulation, bringing her total for the week to 50/54. With her putting ability, that is a deadly combination.

While the counting numbers on her putting weren’t spectacular, she had 29 in total for the rounds, that generally happens when a player is hitting greens in regulation. They often are hitting from further out, thus have longer putts. She did hit one of her signature long aggressive putts on hole nine, one that if not for perfect aim may have rolled well past the hole.

Yin is looking for her second-career LPGA Tour title, but has been trending positively over the last few months after a major leg injury kept her sidelined for the early stages of 2024.

Rookie Akie Iwai showed her first signs of struggle in the third round after entering with the solo lead. On the course that has been surrendering fairly low scores all week, she had just three birdies to go along with her first two bogeys of the week. She is in solo second place five strokes back, one ahead of Thai stars Jeeno Thitikul and Moriya Jutanugarn.

The final round picks up tonight at 10:30 PM est. on Golf Channel.
