Our preview of who will be on the 2026 Solheim Cup continues with the players who will probably be on the teams, starting here with Team USA. These are players who are safe bets to make it, but there are scenarios where if everything goes wrong, they could be left off.
LAUREN COUGHLIN
Lauren Coughlin was close to a lock, but I have her just barely under. While she has shown her match play dominance, going 3-0-1 in the 2024 Solheim Cup and making it to the finals of the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play, she still has only been a great player on the LPGA Tour for less than a year. She appears here to stay, and is seemingly growing only more in confidence every week, but I just need to see a bit more longevity to consider her a lock. Still, it would be a big surprise to not see her in the Netherlands in 2026.
ANGEL YIN
Angel Yin was probably the last player left off the team in 2024, mostly because of injury. With seemingly at least two spots opening up from Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing, plus the unpredictability of Alison Lee’s timeline to return, I see this as a big likelihood. Quietly, Yin is now the third highest ranked American in the world and is a solid 5-3-1 in the Solheim Cup with winning records in her last two appearances. If she keeps up her consistency, she should have no problem making this squad.
ANDREA LEE
I don’t think many people would profile Andrea Lee as a strong Solheim Cup performer, but she absolutely proved herself over the last two years. Her 1-2-1 record in 2023 was misleading, she played really tight matches and scored a halve against Georgia Hall, at the time one of Europe’s best players. In 2024, she won both fourball matches alongside Rose Zhang and once again scored a solid halve this time against Esther Henseleit. While her on-course performance on a week-to-week basis makes this feel optimistic, her Solheim Cup presence should get her in easily.
