In her post-round interview, Nelly Korda said of A Lim Kim “She’s playing a different golf course.”
When you look at the statistics, Korda isn’t wrong. Kim is out in front of the field by three strokes despite a bogey on the 18th hole today. She currently sits at -15 and has shot -3 or better in all three rounds so far at the Hilton Grant Vacations Tournament of Champions.
The major champion was dominant in her approach shots and and putting, hitting only 25 putts on Saturday. Kim has hit 35 fairways out of 42 chances on the week and has 81 total putts. She is looking for her third win of her LPGA Tour career.
Sitting three strokes back is Linn Grant, who like Kim shot -5 on Saturday and hit 16 out of 18 greens in regulation.
The biggest story of the day was LPGA Hall of Famer Lydia Ko, who shot -7 to get herself into contention and the final group on Sunday. Ko had seven birdies on the round to get to -11 for the tournament and as usual was strong in scrambling and playing around the greens.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda also shot -5 to round out the group at -11 or better and finished on a roll with birdies on four of the last five holes. Overall on her last 10 holes she had six birdies.
The final round kicks off tomorrow morning with the two biggest stars on the tour, Ko and Korda, chasing down Kim.
