If you were to get in a debate about who the best player on the LPGA Tour without a win is, you’d have a pretty strong case with Alison Lee.
Lee, the 29-year-old American came to the tour after an excellent college career at UCLA and made an immediate impact. In 2015, her first full season on tour, Lee had six top 10s and earned a spot on the Solheim Cup team at only 20. That first season, is still to date, the most top 10s she’s had in a season. Her next year, she had five top 10s.
Then the struggles hit. From 2017-2020, Lee had zero top-10 finishes. In 2018-2019 she made 34 starts on tour and only made 13 cuts.
Lee has bounced back strong though in recent years. In 2022 she made 22 of 24 cuts and had four top 10s. In 2023, she showed that she could be one of the best players on the LPGA Tour. Lee had five top 10s and incredibly finished runner up in the last three events she played in on the season. She also won an event on the Ladies European Tour that had a field quality comparable to an LPGA Tour one. In only two starts in 2024, she already has a third place finish.
The win has to be coming soon. Lee is putting herself in position to win more than she ever has. She is in line to make her first Solheim Cup since her rookie year, and doesn’t seem to show any signs of stopping soon.
