The official 2024 United States Solheim Cup team is really starting to take shape. Lauren Coughlin wasn’t the only player to secure her spot on the team as Allisen Corpuz’s top 15 finish at the Scottish Open also gave her the necessary points to lock up a spot.
The 26-year-old Hawaii native will be making her second Solheim Cup appearance after playing in 2023 as well. In that last playing, Corpuz was the strongest of the first-time players, going 2-1-1. The story of her 2023 Solheim Cup was her partnership with world No. 1 Nelly Korda, with whom she went 2-0 in the foursomes format. Expect that duo to be playing together again this year.
Corpuz has one win in just about three full seasons on tour, but it was about as good of a win as one could have. Corpuz won the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach, one of the most high profile events in women’s golf history. She currently ranks No. 27 in the Rolex Rankings and has played consistent golf as of late. She has finished in the top 30 in the last six events she has played in.
Corpuz joins Korda, Lilia Vu, Ally Ewing and Lauren Coughlin as the players to officially secure their spot on the 2024 team. That leaves just four automatic qualifying spots before the three captain’s selections are made.
