Four-time Solheim Cup player Ally Ewing announced her retirement from professional golf at the end of the LPGA Tour season this morning on Instagram.
The 31-year-old from Mississippi is a three-time winner on the LPGA Tour, with each win coming since 2020. Her last win was at the 2022 Kroger Queen City Championship.
Ally Ewing is maybe most notable for her Solheim Cup appearances, playing on each of the last four teams. In the Instagram post, she described representing her country as the biggest honor of her career. While her 3-12-1 record may not be the most impressive, she has been viewed as an essential leader and chemistry piece, particularly on the team that won in 2024.
Ewing nearly represented her country this season at the 2024 Olympics, falling just one spot short of making the team. She is currently ranked No. 18 in the Rolex Rankings.
Ewing hit a bit of a hot streak this year, playing arguably the best golf of her career. She is currently ranked No. 9 in the CME Globe Standings, because of her six top-10 finishes this season, three of which were in major championships. Overall, Ewing has 25 top-10 finishes in her career.
Ewing joins Solheim Cup teammate Lexi Thompson as prominent Americans to retire at the end of the season.
