Well, it seems pretty clear where Andrea Lee seems the most comfortable, The City of Roses. On Saturday, Lee shot a -5 67 to take the one-stroke lead at -19 heading into the final round.
Lee’s one and only LPGA Tour win came at this event in 2022, a win that helped greatly to get her on the 2023 USA Solheim Cup team. While she performed better than her record at that event, she would still be far from a guarantee to get a captain’s selection. She is currently in the top nine, sitting at No. 7, a win here would come close to locking her in.
Lee dominated the front nine before cruising into the clubhouse on the back.
She bogeyed the opening par four before rattling off six birdies on her next 11 holes. After that elite scoring stretch, she had pars all the way in on 13-18.
Lee, known a bit more for her accuracy than her length, hit 11 fairways and 17 greens Saturday. For the week she has missed just nine greens, with six of those coming in the opening round.
She did have by far her worst putting day on Saturday. After having 25 putts on each of the first two days, but with hitting 17 greens, it is reasonable to see she had some longer distance birdie opportunities.
Lee has a tight leaderboard behind her, including rising 19-year-old star Alexa Pano and 36-hole leader Dewi Weber tied for second place one back.
Golf Channel will cover the final round in primetime beginning at 6:00 est.
