With the Augusta National Women’s Amateur beginning today, let’s continue to look at some of the players in the field:

KENDALL TODD

It is a bit surprising that this is Todd’s first time in the field, especially considering the year she had in 2024, where she made the semifinal round in the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Todd, a 22-year-old playing for Arkansas, has seven top-10 finishes this season including a win at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO

Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio has had a really strong history in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. The 19-year-old from Spain who plays her college golf at Texas A&M had top-20 finishes in both of her previous starts, including a fourth place result in 2023.

PATIENCE RHODES

Patience Rhodes is the highest ranked Sun Devil in the field, coming in at No. 34 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). Rhodes had perhaps her most notable moment at the 2024 Curtis Cup, where she clinched a point for Team GB&I by defeating Zoe Campos of the United States 6&5.

MINSEO JUNG

Minseo Jung, an 18-year-old from Korea, doesn’t quite have the experience in big amateur events like some others do. She hasn’t played college golf and is making her first start here. She did finish runner-up in the Korean Women’s Amateur though.

CATERINA DON

Caterina Don, a 24-year-old from Italy who played her college golf at Georgia, is making her third start in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Don has made the cut both of her previous playings and is now an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan University.
