No. 20 Arizona State women’s golf leads the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate hosted by South Carolina after one round. ASU has a three-stroke lead at -6 over No. 18 Duke and No. 12 Northwestern.

The Darius Rucker Intercollegiate is one of the biggest events on the NCAA women’s golf schedules, this year featuring six of the top 20 teams in the country. The tournament is of course named for singer and South Carolina sports superfan Darius Rucker, and is held at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head.

Past individual champions include LPGA players Maria Fassi, Frida Kinhult, Leona Maguire, Cheyenne Knight, Stephanie Meadow and Yu Liu. This year, LSU superstar, senior Ingrid Lindblad has the lead heading into day two.

The Sun Devils were led by dueling -3 under scores, one back of the lead, by sophomore Grace Summerhays (above) and freshman Patience Rhodes. ASU did not have to count an over par score.

ASU will have to navigate a loaded team leaderboard, with Duke, Northwestern, No. 5 South Carolina and No. 4 LSU all under par.

The second round airs on Golf Channel from 2:30 – 5:30 P.M. est.
