Auston Kim, who is off to a fantastic start to the season in 2026, is once again in contention at the Blue Bay LPGA.
In Kim’s first two starts of the LPGA season, she has two top-20 finishes, first at the Honda LPGA Thailand where she finished T18 and then last week in Singapore when she finished runner-up. In Singapore, she had the lead through 36 holes and looked poised to get her first LPGA Tour title.
Kim currently sits in third place at -9, two strokes back of leader Mi Hyang Lee. Kim started off the week with a -5 67 in the opening round with a startling nine birdies and four bogeys. Her game was a bit more consistent Friday.
On Friday, Kim started strong with two birdies on her first four holes. The round really started to look special with an eagle on the eighth hole, but she immediately dropped one of those strokes, ending her front nine with a bogey. On the back, Kim made eight straight pars before a closing birdie.
Kim is one of the flashier players on the Tour, routinely at the top of the driving distance standings. She’s certainly starting to become a more well-rounded player though and looks to be in strong position to make the United States Solheim Cup team for the first time.
