Two rounds are in the books at The Annika driven by Gainbridge, here are some of the biggest stories of the week so far:

  • Grace Kim is tied for the lead at -9 heading into the weekend. If she were to hold on and win, it would be hard to argue many people have had a better season in women’s golf than her. Kim has already won her first major title and was a part of the winning Australian International Crown team. Her reputation as a star has grown immensely in 2025 even before this week, evidenced by her getting a featured group spot this week alongside Nelly Korda and Miyu Yamashita.
  • Linn Grant is tied with Kim at -9 after a terrific -7 63 in round two. Grant hit 17 greens in the round and only needed 28 putts. Considering the green complexes are the main defense at Pelican Golf Club, this was a wildly impressive round. She can be the fourth player from Sweden to win on the Tour this season and the first to win The Annika.
  • Nelly Korda, a three-time champion of this event, was fantastic on Friday, turning in arguably her best putting performance of the season. She shot a 63 to jump into the top five, hitting every fairway, 17 greens and hitting 29 putts that totalled over 100 feet.
  • Jennifer Kupcho is in position to contend once again this week, sitting at -8 just one stroke back of the leaders. She has a chance to be the first American to win twice on the LPGA Tour in 2025.
  • After missing a couple months because of injury, Rose Zhang is back in good form, sitting in the top 10. It has been an inconsistent season to say the least for Zhang, who has made just six cuts in 13 starts, but it would be a great momentum boost heading into 2026 to finish strong here.
  • Kai Trump didn’t necessarily have a successful week, she did finish in last place, but she was in impressive form in the second round making four birdies and shooting +5 75. While on paper her scores obviously do not line up with the professionals on the Tour, that should never been expected out of her. She still has a long way to go, but she showed flashes of potential to be a future LPGA Tour player.
