After a rough first round, Yuka Saso and Celine Boutier needed to go super low to make the cut at the 2024 Dow Championship. They did just that, shooting 58 in the afternoon four ball to make it by one stroke.
Saso and Boutier, one of the few teams with two major champions and the only one with two players in the top 10 in the Rolex Rankings, had 12 birdies and no bogeys. Both played terrific golf, but Boutier was certainly the leader, making 11 birdies, with eight on the front nine.
The pair sit four back of the lead on a bunched leaderboard. Only five strokes separate the leaders and the last teams to make the cut. It is truly anyone’s ballgame.
In the lead is a group of five pairings. Australian Grace Kim, who is leading once again heading into the weekend, is playing with long-hitting rookie Auston Kim. Danish group Nichole Broch Estrup and Nanna Koerstz Madsen. American duo Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho are also up there, as they have been all week. Wei Ling Hsu and Ssu-Chia Cheng from Chinese Taipei and Jaravee Boonchant and Chanette Wannasean of Thailand round out the group.
Coverage today begins at 4 ET on Peacock and 5 ET on Golf Channel, running until conclusion of play.
