Brooke Henderson, the 27-year-old Canadian superstar, won for the first time on the LPGA Tour since January of 2023 with a one-stroke victory over Minjee Lee.
The final round of the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open was setup to be a duel of two multiple major champions, with Henderson and Lee tied for the lead and three strokes clear of any chasers.
Each player had two pars, a bogey and a birdie on the first four holes, but the home-country favorite drew first blood with a birdie on the par 5 fifth hole. Lee battled back with a long birdie putt on eight to bring it back to all even making the turn.
Both players battled on the back nine, showing off why they are two of the best players of their generations, each making three birdies. It was the dropped shot on 11 for Lee that was ultimately the difference.
It wasn’t easy late though, Henderson hit some wayward tee shots, including on 18 when she found the fairway bunker. She hit a fantastic shot though to give her a long birdie look, which she put to less than a couple feet. When Lee’s putt missed, Henderson tapped in to the delight of the fans in Canada.
This was the 14th time Henderson won on the LPGA Tour, putting her at No. 4 in active wins behind Lydia Ko (23), Nelly Korda (15) and Jin Young Ko (15). This was the second time she won on her home turf.
