As to be expected at a major championship, there are some prime time pairings for the first two rounds. Take a look at some of the biggest groups of the week at PGA Frisco (All times Eastern and for Thursday round):
9:28 – Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda, Jeeno Thitikul – The absolute prime-time pairing of the week is of course the group that has the three highest ranked players in the world, all who strangely have a bit to prove in Texas. Ko hasn’t played a whole lot and has had some mediocre finishes over the last few events, including both majors. Korda is still searching for her first win of the season and needs to see improvements with her putter and Jeeno is without a major title in her career. It is always thrilling to watch three superstars play together and this should be a lot of fun.
9:39 – Brooke Henderson, Mao Saigo, Maja Stark – This grouping features the first two major champions of the year, Maja Stark and Mao Saigo. Saigo played well in her first outing as a major champion, it’ll be interesting to see how Stark does here. That leaves superstar, past champion, two-time major winner Brooke Henderson, looking to break a long streak of not winning on the LPGA Tour.
9:50 – Lauren Coughlin, Chisato Iwai, Minjee Lee – Chisato Iwai has been an instant star in her rookie season, and has two top-30 finishes in majors. Lee is a two-time major champion having a really nice bounce back season, with 10/11 made cuts and three top-10 finishes, she is looking back in form and for a win. Finally Lauren Coughlin, who could use a nice performance to get her season back on track after a breakout 2024.
2:55* – Yealimi Noh, Yuka Saso, Lexi Thompson – Yealimi Noh has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2025 season, with a win and four top-10 finishes already. When Noh plays with confidence, she is one of the best players in the world. Lexi Thompson always has the spotlight on her, but after a good finish at last week’s Meijer LPGA Classic, she should be one of the real players to watch. Yuka Saso hasn’t found any form in 2025, but she is still a two-time major champion.
3:17* – Ayaka Furue, Charley Hull, Jin Young Ko – The big time pairing of the afternoon wave, Ayaka Furue is always a great bet to play well despite not being in her best form this year she still has three top-10s. Charley Hull is one of the biggest stars on the tour and is still looking for her first major. Jin Young Ko is one of the best players of her generation, but hasn’t won since 2023 and hasn’t gotten a major since 2019.
