Hannah Green emerged as the solo-leader in the second round of the BMW Ladies Championship, before rain in the Republic of Korea shortened the second round at 1:05 local time.

Green got off to a strong start in the opening round, shooting a -8 64, tying her for the lead with Ashleigh Buhai and Jenny Shin. In round two, despite the tough conditions, Green was thriving once again.

Through nine holes in the second round, Green was -4 for the round, giving her a two-stroke lead over fellow major champion Buhai. She was thriving in both her approach game and her putting. The 27-year-old Australian hit eight greens and needed only 13 putts to wrap up the front nine.

While Green has been an established, solid player since her 2019 major championship victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, 2024 has signaled a bit of a breakout into the more superstar tier. Green already has two wins on the season and has ascended into the top-10 of the Rolex Rankings.

Lurking not far behind is Lydia Ko, seeking her fourth LPGA Tour title of the season. The hall-of-famer is sitting four shots back and was -3 through 13 when the tournament was called for the day. Ko had hit all 11 fairways and missed just one green.

The plan will be to complete the second round and immediately begin the third with no re-shuffle of groups.
