The JM Eagle Los Angeles Championship is providing accommodations for all players in the field this week. While Hannah Green is thankful for the perk, she won’t be utilizing it.
“I have a really lovely host family that I have been staying with since 2018,” said Green. “I’m staying with them again this year, so not breaking any trends.”
She has reason to continue this tradition. Nobody plays Wilshire Country Club quite like Green. The major champion and world No. 18 won this event in a playoff in 2023, and finished in the top three at the course in both 2022 and 2021. Australians have fared well here historically, with Minjee Lee winning in 2019 and has two additional top 10s.
Green missed the cut at the season’s first major last week, but that doesn’t shake her confidence moving forward. As she pointed out today, she missed the cut at the Chevron Championship last year before her victory.
Green is off to a solid start in 2024, winning her fourth-career event in Singapore and currently sits at No. 9 in the CME Standings. For now her focus is on trying to recapture the magic of last year:
“Even just playing the back nine kind of remembering the putts that I holed, I kind of recreated the putt that I holed on 18 in regulation,” said Green. “Just things like that really make it helpful and give me more confidence.”
