Ingrid Lindblad of LSU is the winner of the 2024 Annika Award, the first Tiger to ever win.

The Annika Award, named for women’s golf legend Annika Sörenstam, is given annually to the best women’s collegiate golfer in the nation. Think of it as the Heisman for women’s golf. The award was first given out in 2014 to Alison Lee from UCLA.

While Ingrid Lindblad’s career came to a disappointing finish at the National Championship, her accomplishments are undeniable. The super senior from Sweden won four times this season, and never finished outside of the top five of a tournament in 2024 until the Championship.

Lindblad has spent much of the last year ranked No. 1 in the women’s golf amateur rankings, and came in third place at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. She currently holds the all-time SEC record for total wins in a career.

Lindblad becomes the second SEC player to win the Annika Award, after Maria Fassi won it twice in 2018 and 2019.

Lindblad is probably next off to the professional ranks, where she should make a relatively quick impact.
