There have been a couple changes in the makeup of the rosters for the upcoming International Crown, including one major shakeup.
World No. 2 Nelly Korda will no longer be suiting up in the red, white and blue because of injury, and has been replaced by Yealimi Noh. Noh is ranked No. 28 in the Rolex Rankings and has had a nice breakout season, though her recent play hasn’t been as strong as early in the year.
Korda leaves a giant hole in the United States team, not just being their highest ranked player but being very strong in match play and team formats, foursomes in particular. Noh will be joining Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin and Angel Yin on the roster.
Thailand, the defending champions, also lost a major champion with Patty Tavatanakit. Tavatanakit went 4-1 in the 2023 International Crown, winning all of her matches alongside Jeeno Thitikul.
Tavatanakit does have a worthy replacement though in Pajaree Anannarukarn, who is ranked No. 83 in the world. Before her most recent event in Boston, Anannarukarn was in very solid form and has shown flashes of strength in match play.
The International Crown kicks off in Korea October 23rd.
