Two days are in the books of the International Crown, and so much is still up for grabs with every team mathematically still alive to make it to the semifinal round.

  • The United States was the first team to stamp their place in the semifinals before the third round even begins. Though there were questions if the form was there for the Americans, they have taken care of business against the weaker China and Thailand teams. This eases the pressure from them heading into their hardest matchup yet against Australia.
  • Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin have been fantastic as a four ball team, at one point winning five holes in a row in their match against Thailand. Neither of their two matches have even reached hole 15. This pairing will be something to remember come Solheim Cup time.
  • Look out as well for Lauren Coughlin and Lilia Vu as a potential pairing for the 2026 Solheim Cup. Coughlin is certainly strengthening her already solid position to make that team. She is 5-0-1 between the International Crown and the Solheim Cup and clearly plays her best golf in these formats.
  • The World Team is living up to the hype after a great session win against the home country Korea. Now they just need to take care of business against Sweden and they will be advancing, keeping some of the biggest stars in the world in this event for at least one more session.
  • Australia hasn’t quite been as strong as expected, with the pairing of Hannah Green and Grace Kim going 0-2 so far. If they reach the semifinals though, both of those players will likely play as individuals, as to not break up the phenomenal duo of Minjee Lee and Steph Kyriacou.
  • Thailand had a disappointing day two, with world No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul losing an International Crown match for the first time in blowout fashion. Thanks to a matchup with China on the final day though, they still have a good chance at making it through the pool round.
  • Korea, like Australia, could be an extremely dangerous team if it gets through the pool round. While Jin Young Ko and Haeran Ryu have been just okay as a team, tying both of their matches, they should be strong as individuals.
  • Props to Sweden for staying alive as well as they have despite matchups with Japan and Korea. Playing in the far more difficult pool, they can still advance once again to the next round.
  • Japan has been a bit disappointing to this point, maybe because of lack of experience compared to the other countries, but a big performance against Korea can still put the betting favorites into the semis.
