The defending International Crown champs could have a new look in 2025, but should still be one of the most formidable teams in the event:
THE CURRENT FOUR
- No. 4 Jeeno Thitikul
- No. 24 Patty Tavatanakit
- No. 42 Ariya Jutanugarn
- No. 46 Chanettee Wannasean
There are three holdovers here from the 2023 team, with Thitikul, Tavatanakit and Jutanugarn all still in the top four. Thitikul and Tavatanakit seem to be essential locks to make the team once again, and each are in a much better place as players than they were last time around.
Jeeno Thitikul is considered by many to be one of the most elite players in the world after her fantastic 2024 season that saw her win the Race to the CME Globe. She is playing with an improved confidence and getting the most out of her immense talent. Tavatanakit got her second-career win in 2024 and competed well at the Evian Championship, where she finished third. She also won the Grant Thornton Invitational, which has a similar format.
Wannasean could well be the third highest ranked player for Thailand by the time the event rolls around if she continues her level of performance. Over her two full seasons on tour she has a win in each of them and found improved consistency in 2024. Jutanugarn could use a bit better performance in 2025 to guarantee a spot on the team, but would be a valuable piece for experience, having already played in this event four times.
POTENTIAL REPRESENTATIVES
- No. 60 Pajaree Anannarukarn
- No. 73 Jasmine Suwannapura
There really doesn’t feel like a lot of players who could crash this four unless there’s a real breakout player. Anannurukarn would be a solid representative. The second of her two LPGA Tour wins was at the match play event at Shadow Creek, which obviously holds similarities in format with the International Crown. Suwannapura has a similar strength, having played well in the Dow Championship, which uses the same four ball and foursomes format.
CAN THEY WIN?
This is another maybe. The top-end talent is strong, especially if Jutanugarn and Tavatanakit play to their high-end potential. Experience doesn’t hurt either, Thailand is one of the few top teams that will have three players returning.
