At the Nexus Invitational hosted by Texas Tech, Iowa State women’s golf had a strong day, gaining four strokes on the Kentucky Wildcats.
No. 52 Iowa State, traditionally a solid program, performed fantastically in round two at the Nexus Invitational, held in the Bahamas. Iowa State followed up its +4 first round score with shooting +2 in the second round. None of the four counting scores were more than +1 on the day.
While the Cyclones don’t have anyone in the top four of the individual leaderboard, as a team they are performing well. Three Cyclones are in the top 15 currently, led by senior Liyana Durisic at even par.
Kentucky still leads though, this time only by three strokes though. On a day where scores were hard to come by, superstar Jensen Castle shot even par for the second day in a row to keep the Wildcats high on the leaderboard. She is currently tied for fifth individually.
The Nexus Invitational wraps up its final round tomorrow, stay tuned to Fore-All.com for more updates.
