Jenny Shin, the 32-year-old from Seoul, South Korea, shot a -8 64 in the opening round of the BMW Ladies Championship contested in her home country.

Shin shot dueling -4 scores on each nine, playing particularly strong on the par 5s, where she was -3. Eight birdies and no dropped shots for Shin was the result of an absurd statistical round.

While Shin wouldn’t be considered by anyone to be one of the longest players on the tour, she showed off her incredible finesse in the first round. Shin hit all 14 fairways, hit 17 out of 18 greens and only needed 27 putts.

This isn’t new for Shin, as despite having no wins and only three top-10 finishes on the season, she actually leads the tour in opening round scoring average at 69.72. The second round will be essential for the veteran though, as she ranks No. 100 in round two scoring average.

Tied with Shin are two major champions looking to get back in the winner’s circle, Hannah Green and Ashleigh Buhai, while the highest ranked Korean in the field, Haeran Ryu, sits just one back.
