After the first round of the Q-Series finals, a few names from the LPGA Tour are in good position to retain their cards, but trail Canadian Leah John.
The Q-Series, the final qualifying for players to receive their LPGA Tour cards for 2026, is taking place in Mobile, Alabama, just wrapping up its weather delayed first round.
John, an Epson Tour winner from 2025, currently holds the lead at -8, and seems comfortably in at the moment, six strokes clear of the mark she would need to earn her card.
The top 25 finishers will earn their cards here, a couple big LPGA Tour names are in that top 25 after the first round.
One of those players is major champion Hinako Shibuno, who sits five strokes back of the lead after shooting -3 in her opening round. Shibuno is in a tie for 10th place but the leaderboard is crowded behind her, leaving no margin for error.
Polly Mack, the super long hitting German, is also tied for 10th looking to remain on the Tour. Kim Kauffman, a former LPGA Tour player who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, is also within the qualifying line at -2.
Finally, Mirabel Ting is currently in position to finish in the top 25. Ting won last year’s Annika Award while at Florida State and is trying to qualify for the first time.
