While Lilia Vu’s performance Saturday was far from perfect, her resilience and putting have given her a steady lead heading into the final round of the Ford Championship.

Vu, like much of the field that played in the later afternoon, struggled mightily with distance control. The winds were high and the greens were hard, causing some chaos for the field. Vu had three birdies with two bogeys on the front nine. She responded strongly on 11 with a lengthy birdie putt to get her momentum back.

After a disaster of a double bogey on the toughest hole of the day, 14, Vu responded with yet another long birdie putt on the par 3 15. She followed that up with an easy birdie on 16 and another birdie on 17.

After a closing par on 18, she finished up with a -4 68 to hold a two-stroke lead over Charley Hull, who she will play with Sunday.

Vu, the two-time major champion and former No. 1 in the world, hasn’t played much this season coming off a tumultuous 2024 campaign where she was dealing with a back injury for much of the season. When Vu is playing well, and more importantly putting well, there are few players in the world that can play better than her.
