Two-time major champion, and No. 2 ranked player in the Rolex Rankings, Lilia Vu, will miss her second major championship in a row at the U.S. Women’s Open.
Vu has been dealing with a back injury this season, causing her to only finish five total events on the year. At the first major of the season, the Chevron Championship, which she was defending after her 2023 win, she withdrew moments before her scheduled tee time.
Vu won four times total in 2023, leading to an LPGA Tour Player of the Year win and reaching the No. 1 ranking in the world. She bookended the LPGA Tour major season, winning the Chevron Championship and AIG Women’s Open.
Vu did fight her way to a top-10 finish this season at the Honda LPGA Thailand, but withdrew from the next two events she started. She currently sits at No. 63 in the CME Standings.
