At the halfway mark of the 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship, a rookie and a veteran top the leaderboard at -13.
Ingrid Lindblad, a rookie from LSU and the 2024 Annika Award winner for best collegiate women’s player, was spectacular Friday, shooting a -9 63 to rocket up the leaderboard.
Lindblad, from Sweden, had a terrific front nine, with six birdies and no bogeys, before following it up with a back that included four birdies and a bogey. She finished her round with four consecutive pars. Lindblad hit every single green on the day and only needed 27 putts when she got on.
Buhai, who led for most of her round alone, shot a -4 round to be at -13 with Lindblad. She had five birdies and one bogey on the round. After a bad three putt par on the par 5 16, she avoided a second crucial three putt, hitting a relatively long putt to save par on 18.
Nelly Korda, after a tough start, recovered well with a -4 68 but was -6 on her last 12 holes. She sits at -9 for the tournament, well within striking range.
The JM Eagle LA Championship continues Saturday.
