Happy Gilmore 2 debuted on Netflix today and is filled with cameos from the golf world. A few of those come from some of the biggest names in women’s golf both past and present.
Light spoilers ahead for Happy Gilmore 2:
Happy Gilmore 2 mostly deals with Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore trying to re-enter the world of professional golf after a rival league to the traditional tour threatens to change golf forever. Gilmore is also trying to earn money to send his ballet prodigy daughter to a school in Paris where she can fulfill her potential.
Our first LPGA Tour cameos come from Nelly Korda and Nancy Lopez. Early in the film, Happy’s old rival Shooter McGavin is introduced in a mental hospital, where he has been since the events of the first movies. Lopez and Korda play doctors who are questioning McGavin to determine if he is fit to leave the hospital.
The final cameo from an LPGA star comes later in the film, when Gilmore seeks the advice of the son of Chubbs Peterson, his first coach. Chubbs’ son Slim is working at a miniature golf course owned by Charley Hull. He gets fired by Hull in a quick scene as he leaves to go help Gilmore.
Korda and Lopez do make brief additional appearances watching Gilmore play golf late in the film.
Happy Gilmore 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
