When Maja Stark tee’d off on Friday, she was nowhere near the top of the leaderboard. To be precise she was in 108th place after shooting a dreadful five over round. She didn’t let those struggles get to her in round two.
Stark shot a startling -7 64, jumping into the top-25 and improving by 12 strokes on her opener. While her driving stats the two days were nearly identical, she jumped from hitting 12 greens to 17 greens in round two.
Putting was improved as well. On Thursday, Stark averaged more than two putts per hole. It doesn’t matter the situation, that will always be a disaster. Today was an improvement, down five strokes to 32 putts.
While Stark still has a long way to go to jump into real contention, she currently sits four back, it was a heck of an effort to get herself comfortably inside the cut line.
