In one of the most dominant major performances in recent women’s major championship golf, Minjee Lee won the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship by three strokes over Chanettee Wannasaen and Auston Kim.

While the performance was dominant, the 29-year-old Aussie wasn’t perfect on Sunday, especially on the front nine. She missed a green on the second hole and bogeyed the third hole. She had two more on the front nine on 5 and 6 before her round started to turn around on 9 with a birdie.

She did have another bogey on the 10th hole, but recovered well, finally turning her round into gear. She had a big birdie on 14 that seemed to lock in her win. She added another on the short par 4 15th before a bogey on 16, but the result was already written. Easy pars on 17 and 18 made it official.

While she struggled in the tough conditions, nobody within striking distance made a legitimate move. Her lead was never less than two strokes, and while Kim and Wannasaen put together noble efforts, they were too far back entering the day to make a run.

This is Lee’s 11th win on the LPGA Tour but her first since October, 2023, as 2024 was a big-time struggle for the veteran. Lee finished No. 43 on the money list, the lowest of her career, and was statistically one of the worst putters on Tour. This year, her new putter has led to big improvements, culminating this week. She led the field in strokes gained putting at PGA Frisco.

Lee is now the first player to win three majors all in the 2020s, adding on to her wins at the 2021 Evian Championship and the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open. She can achieve the career grand slam later this year at the AIG Women’s Open.
