LPGA Tour legend Nancy Lopez was announced Sept. 8 to be a member of the PGA of America Hall of Fame class of 2025 alongside Jim Richerson, Ronny Glanton, Jim McLean, JD Turner and Dennis Walters.
The PGA Hall of Fame describes its members as those who through their lives, careers, service and support have made significant and enduring contributions to the Association in its mission to grow the game of golf.
The first woman inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame was Babe Didrikson Zaharias in 1977. Other LPGA Tour players inducted include Patty Berg, Renee Powell, Shirley Spork, Annika Sörenstam and Kathy Whitworth.
Nancy Lopez is considered one of the greatest players in LPGA Tour history and one of its most marketable stars ever. Lopez won three majors, all the Women’s PGA Championship, along with 45 additional LPGA Tour events, four Player of the Year awards and three Vare trophies.
In addition to the PGA of America Hall of Fame, Lopez is a member of the LPGA Hall of Fame, which she earned entry into in 1987 and the World Golf Hall of Fame where she was inducted in 1988. She is also a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and the New Mexico High School Hall of Fame.
