Natthakritta Vongtaveelap is back in contention in her home-country event after her runner-up finish in 2023.
Vongtaveelap hasn’t seen widespread success on the LPGA Tour, with only three career made cuts in eight starts. Her biggest moment yet came in this very event in 2023, when she was the leader heading into the final round. While Vontaveelap was -20 through the first three days, she shot just -1 in the final round, taking herself out of the tournament early with a tough start.
Lilia Vu came from way behind, shooting -8 in that final round to beat Vongtaveelap by one stroke.
Vongtaveelap is just 21-years-old and from Bangkok, a member of the young Thai contingent that is taking over the LPGA Tour. She currently trails leader Peiyun Chien by 3 strokes and is in a tie for third. She looks to become the second player from Thailand to win this event.
