While Nelly Korda was one of the biggest stars on tour entering the 2024 season, there was a roster of players that could have laid claim to being the face of the LPGA Tour.

Those discussions are closed now, after Korda reached the pinnacle of her career so far, winning her second major title and fifth tournament in a row at the Chevron Championship.

Korda’s career achievements are stacked. At only 25-years-old she has 13 wins on the LPGA Tour, two majors, an Olympic gold medal, three Ladies European Tour Titles and a seemingly inevitable Player of the Year title to come.

The real kicker though is this incredible current run. Capping off a record-tying five wins in a row with a major championship, on broadcast television, with fantastic coverage all week by the LPGA Tour media partners. Nearly every shot of Korda’s win was broadcast somewhere.

It is also notable the time in which she is making all of these achievements. In the wake of the incredible 2023-2024 women’s basketball season, it is arguable that women’s sports have never been in the national spotlight more than they are now. Also, this run coinciding with Scottie Scheffler’s historic streak on the PGA Tour, American golf is firmly in the spotlight.

Mel Reid wrote on Instagram last night “We officially have the superstar of our generation.” After this most recent victory, that feels undeniable.
