With only a couple full field events left in the 2025 LPGA Tour season, the field for the final tournament is starting to take shape. In November, the top 60 players in the CME Standings will compete in Naples for the biggest pay day in American women’s golf. Here are some of the notable players who are still fighting to secure their spots:
No. 50 – Lexi Thompson – With nine spots of buffer and so few events left, Thompson is probably pretty safe in the field, but a nice result this week in Arkansas would take all the pressure off. While Thompson hasn’t played as much as the others on this list, she has found consistency, which is more than the others can say. Thompson has made 8/11 cuts and has a couple top-10 finishes. Thompson has actually finished top-15 in five of her starts and has had maybe her best season since 2022.
No. 53 – Hannah Green – Coming off the best season of her career, where she won three tournaments, Green has had a bit of a disappointing 2025. The six-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion is still within that top 60 right now, but could use a couple good results to secure her placement. Green has made 10/16 cuts with only three top-10 finishes on the year and has missed the weekend in five out of her last six starts.
No. 64 – Lilia Vu – Despite a year filled with injuries and inconsistent play, Vu does still have a chance to be playing in Naples come November. Vu has made just five cuts in 15 starts and has only one top-10 finish, but it was a runner up. Vu has made just one cut since the beginning of May and her last top 50 finish was in March. If she can find some momentum though and get two strong finishes, she will give herself a chance at the CME title.
No. 66 – Gabi Ruffels – After a strong rookie season in 2024, Ruffels has shown signs of a sophomore slump in 2025. Ruffels has only one top-10 finish this season, but it was at a major where she was in firm contention at the Evian Championship. Unlike Green and Vu, Ruffels is in solid form currently, making her last four cuts including a top 25 finish last week in Cincinnati.
No. 77 – Rose Zhang – Zhang could use a couple of big finishes to have a chance at moving up. Zhang of course didn’t play much at the start of the year while focusing on her studies at Stanford, and then has seen injuries lead to inconsistency for a lot of the season. Over her last nine starts, Zhang has missed every other cut, but has mixed some solid results into that which show signs of good form. That includes a top-20 finish in Portland and a top five finish in Boston.
