Today on our Olympic Power Ranking, we get some LPGA Tour and Solheim Cup stars hoping to add an Olympic medal to their already impressive careers.
25. Gaby López – Mexico – The flag bearer for Mexico at the Tokyo Olympics will be making her third career appearance. López hasn’t exactly played great in her previous appearances, outside of the top 30 both times, but I think that could be due to change. López has had her moments this year, with four top-15 finishes, but the three-time LPGA Tour winner is someone who can breakout at any time.
24. Georgia Hall – Great Britain – It is pretty incredible that Georgia Hall has never represented Great Britain at the Olympics. An argument could be made that she is the most prominent women’s golfer from England since Laura Davies. Hall hasn’t exactly been in top form this season, with no individual top-10 finishes after five in 2023. The major champion has had some encouraging results recently, finishing top five at the Dow Championship alongside Charley Hull and a top-20 finish at the Evian Championship.
23. Carlota Ciganda – Spain – Ciganda hasn’t had the most consistent track record in 2024, especially as of late, but often she comes out of nowhere to remind us why she’s one of the great European players of the last decade. Her incredible 4-0 performance at the 2023 Solheim Cup probably being the most prominent example. The seven-time LET winner has had two top-10 finishes in the first half of the LPGA Tour season, but her last top-20 finish came at the Meijer LPGA Classic.
