Major Champion Patty Tavatanakit leads after two rounds at the Aramco Saudi Ladies Inviational held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Tavatanakit, like most of the field performed better in the opening round than Friday’s round two, shooting 66 in the first before a 70 today. She currently sits at -8, ahead of Nichole Broch Estrup by two strokes.
It’s an important week for Tavatanakit, who has only won once on the LPGA Tour and never on the Ladies European Tour. Next week, the LPGA heads to her home country, Thailand, for the Honda LPGA Thailand. Getting momentum heading into her home-country event could be a big boost.
The Aramco Saudi Ladies Invitational boasts an impressive field. Other notables are Leona Maguire who is in sixth place after a second round 64, Charley Hull and Alexa Pano who are in a T8 and Ayaka Furue hanging on to a top-10 spot.
