Yesterday we went over the first five tournaments in our rankings of the best LPGA Tour events in 2025. Today, we pick that up with the top six.
No. 6 – The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions – The season got off to a solid start at the Tournament of Champions won by A Lim Kim. Down the final stretch on Sunday, world No. 1 made a late charge to get into contention. Korda made nine birdies on the final day and shot -4 on the back nine, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Kim, who looked more confident than ever, winning by two strokes.
No. 5 – The T-Mobile Match Play – The T-Mobile Match Play holds a bit of an advantage, being played on the best course on the Tour and being a different format, a format that guarantees a Sunday battle. Here, the final round went all 18 holes for the first time between two grinders on tour, Madelene Sagström and Lauren Coughlin. This event also gave a classic moment, with the marathon match between Celine Boutier and Ashleigh Buhai.
No. 4 – Ford Championship – One of two playoffs on the LPGA Tour in 2025 featured two of the most accurate players and best putters in the world, Hyo Joo Kim and Lilia Vu. Kim came from behind with a final round 64 that helped her close a four-stroke gap. She defeated Vu on the first hole of the playoff with a fantastic birdie. The leaderboard was great as well, with Allisen Corpuz also making a run on the final group to almost join Kim and Vu.
No. 3 – Honda LPGA Thailand – Angel Yin won her second-career event in Thailand this year, holding off rookie Akie Iwai’s massive Sunday charge. Coming into the day, it seemed Yin may go unchallenged, but Iwai came way from behind, shooting a final round 61 with 10 birdies and an eagle on 18 to force Yin’s hand. Yin herself still played well, making seven birdies, including the winning putt on 18 to capture the one-stroke victory.
No. 2 – JM Eagle LA Championship – This was the rookie showcase of the season. This 2025 rookie class has a lot of hype surrounding it, and here the players showed off why. Former LSU superstar Ingrid Lindblad came out on top of a leaderboard that was shifting constantly all weekend. Akie Iwai once again looked the part of a future star, but came up just short with a bogey on the final hole, preventing a playoff and giving Lindblad the one-stroke win.
No. 1 – The Chevron Championship – Yes, the 2025 Chevron Championship is polarizing, with many arguments if it was great or terrible at the end. But the drama was phenomenal and the LPGA hasn’t been talked about this much since Korda’s win at the same event the year before. Ariya Jutanugarn’s flubbed chip shot brought a whole field of players into the mix, setting up a five-way playoff. In the playoff, every player other than Mao Saigo faltered, handing her the first win of her LPGA Tour career.
