Defending champion, and winner last week on tour, Rose Zhang withdrew from the Mizuho Americas Open mid-way through her front nine on Thursday.

Zhang had a double bogey on the par 3 11, her second hold of the day, and sat at +2 when she withdrew.

No details have been revealed so far on reason for why she withdrew, other than “illness.” We’ll update here if more is told.

Zhang is coming off her second LPGA Tour win last week at the Cognizant Founders Cup. She was one of the heavy favorites entering the week.
