Samantha Wagner, a 28-year-old from Florida, won her first ever Epson Tour event at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship held in Central Michigan.

After a good first two days of the event, Wagner entered the final round a couple strokes back of young phenom Yana Wilson, but turned in her best round of the week at the right time.

Wagner made eight birdies with only one bogey which came on the first hole. She never looked back from there, finishing strong with birdies on five of her last seven holes to get to -13 for the week, two shots clear of Sophia Schubert.

This was Wagner’s best result of the year by far, as it is her first time finishing inside of the top 30 on the leaderboard. With the wins, she vaults up to No. 12 in the Race for the Card. Wagner has previously spent a year on the LPGA Tour in 2023, where she made seven cuts and had a solid finish in Cincinnatti.

Schubert’s second-place finish keeps her near the top of the Race for the Card Standings, where she sits No. 2 at the moment. Schubert now has three top-five finishes on the year and has made every cut.

Gina Kim held on to her top spot in the standings, turning in another good performance with a T15. Her two wins should keep her on top for awhile.

The Epson Tour continues this Michigan swing next week at the Great Lakes Championship.
