The 2026 Solheim Cup captains, Angela Stanford and Anna Nordqvist, were in attendance on the first tee at Bethpage Black Friday along with LPGA Tour commissioner Craig Kessler and Hall of Famer Pat Bradley.
Bradley, the former Solheim Cup captain and six-time major champion, is the aunt of Team USA captain Keegan Bradley.
Stanford and Nordqvist were decked out in USA and European gear respectively as they get ready for their captaincies in just under a year at the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands.
According to Golfweek’s Beth Ann Nichols, Stanford said that LPGA Tour staff members were on site to take notes on the buildout of the hospitality areas. Stanford remarked that she would like to see a bigger scale for the Solheim Cup players.
Both Stanford and Nordqvist, major champions and experienced Solheim Cup competitors, will be captaining for the first time in 2026.
The LPGA Tour will also be headed to Bethpage Black for the first time in 2028 when the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be contended on the iconic public course just outside of New York.
