The Solheim Cup is fast approaching, and now with both teams fully announced, let’s start taking a look at every player competing in the Solheim Cup. These will be rankings of every player taking part, but the order is generally trivial considering how much of an honor and an accomplishment it is to make one of these teams. So, without further ado, let’s meet our first player, Albane Valenzuela:

Albane Valenzuela represents Switzerland, the lone Solheim Cup participant from the country. After being passed over in 2023, she is making her first career appearance in the event.

Valenzuela turned professional in 2019 after a successful college run at Stanford that saw her win Pac 12 Player of the Year. She has represented her country at all three Olympics, including 2016 where she was only 18-years-old.

She is probably most known for her performance in the 2023 Chevron Championship, in which she finished in a tie for fourth place, and had a chance to join the eventual playoff on hole 18.

Valenzuela is currently ranked No. 62 in the Rolex Rankings, though she is still searching for her first win on either the LPGA Tour or the LET. She has two top-10 finishes this year, including a runner-up finish at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Valenzuela has always been a strong iron player, but she has improved dramatically this season off the tee and around the green. Though her putting is still a bit suspect, she has grown into a well-rounded player tee-green that should be valuable in a foursomes setting.

These are two of the deepest Solheim Cup rosters ever, clearly evidenced by how well Valenzuela has played this season and her placement here.
