Despite a relatively quiet second full year on tour, it is hard to deny that Linn Grant from Sweden is one of the most talented and exciting players to watch in the world.
Grant is a powerful player who rounds out her game well in all areas. She is No. 6 in strokes gained driving. No surprise for a player who averages over 270 yards off the tee. She putts well too though, gaining strokes in each of the last two years and improving.
As a Solheim Cup rookie in 2023, Grant was sent out to play in all five sessions, a lot of pressure to put on a young player. She rose to the occasion though, going 3-2 and pairing well with both Maja Stark and Carlota Ciganda. She did lose her Sunday singles match, but was paired up against Megan Khang, who had a terrific week for the United States.
Since 2022, Grant has had six wins on the LET. That includes her huge come-from-behind victory this season in the Scandinavian Mixed event, where she was 11 strokes down heading into the final round. She has one career LPGA Tour win, a dominant victory last season at the Dana Open.
This year, Grant has been fairly consistent despite not having a lot of high results. On the LPGA Tour she has four top-10 finishes in 16 starts with just three missed cuts. Most recently, at the AIG Women’s Open, she recovered from a tough opening round to finish in the top 10.
Grant has the over the top talent, combined with the solid Solheim Cup pedigree, to be someone who Europe can rely on in 2024.
