Stacy Lewis, the two-time major champion and 13-time winner on the LPGA Tour overall, has been announced as the 2026 recipient of the Jim Murray Award.

The Jim Murray Award is given annually to a professional player for their cooperation, quotability and accommodation to the media, and for reflecting the most positive aspects of the working relationship between athlete and journalist. It is named for Jim Murray, the late award winning columnist for the Los Angeles Times.

Dating back to 2002, Lewis is the fifth player to receive the award, joining Nancy Lopez, Juli Inkster, Laura Davies and 2024 recipient Lydia Ko. She also joins PGA Tour legends like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.

This isn’t the first time Lewis has been honored by the Golf Writer’s Association of America, as she was named its female player of the year in both 2012 and 2014.

Lewis, 40, officially announced her retirement in 2025, but is slated to play in this year’s Chevron Championship in her hometown of Houston.

Also being honored by the GWAA are Mark Rolfing, Bud Cauley and Scottie Scheffler, Jeeno Thitikul and Stewart Cink, who won the male, female and senior golfers of the year.
