Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp have won the second annual Grant Thornton Championship with a one-stroke victory over the team of Jeeno Thitikul/Tom Kim.

Tavatanakit and Knapp went wire-to-wire this weekend, leading after all three rounds, excelling particularly in the scramble format Friday, getting them off to a quick start that was clearly too much for anyone else to overcome.

In round two the duo didn’t have the best round of the day, that belonged to Jeeno and Kim at -8, but they still had a wildly impressive -6 in the alternate shot format.

For Sunday’s final round, they did enough to gain a relatively comfortable win that was closer on the scorecard than it was on the course. The team shot a solid -7 round.

As was the case a few times throughout the week, Knapp and Tavatanakit got off to a quick start with an eagle on the opening hole. On the back nine, Patty T was incredible with her putter, looking a lot like Angel Yin a couple weeks ago at the CME Group Tour Championship. Her birdie putt on 16 combined with a terrific Knapp birdie save on 17 sealed the deal.
