Patty Tavatanakit came one step closer to becoming the second Thailand native to win her home country tournament, shooting a -6 66 in the third round.
Tavatanakit once again kept a relatively clean scorecard, having just one bogey during Saturday’s round, only her third of the tournament. She secured her first eagle of the event on the par 5 7th, a hole she is -4 on this week.
Tavatanakit is looking to win for the second week in a row after her victory in Saudi Arabia on the Ladies European Tour. This would be just her second LPGA Tour victory after her major title as a rookie in 2021. With a win, Tavatanakit would likely move to be the second highest ranked Thai player in the world, behind Atthaya Thitikul, which would put her in position to qualify for the Olympics.
Three back of Tavatanakit is Madelene Sagström, who shot a -3 69. Hye Jin Choi and Emily Pedersen jumped up to a tie for third after both shooting 65 on Saturday.
The final round of the Honda LPGA Thailand will air at 10:30 PM est on Golf Channel.
