At the 2024 Texas State Invitational the winner was, Texas State. And it wasn’t particularly close.
The Bobcats finished the tournament at +9 as a team. That was good enough for a 48-stroke victory over Abilene Christian and Sacred Heart. The gap between first place and last place was 120 strokes.
Unsurprisingly, Texas State had the top two individual finishers. Hailey Jones won by five strokes as the only player who finished under par at -2. Yvonne Chamness came in second at +3. All five Texas State players finished in the top 7.
Central Michigan’s Ashley Goh came in third with actually the lowest score of the tournament, with a -3 68 in the second round. Goh shot 75s in the first and third rounds.
Texas State is ranked No. 65 in the country and next plays in a large tournament at the Houston-hosted ICON Invitational.
